What's going to be there?
Here's a general rundown of the stuff that we're looking to make/have for the party.

Food
  • Jambalaya (Chicken & Andouille)
      - Maryland Mild
      - Original John-balaya
  • Gumbo, Etouffee, or some other Cajun-ish dish
Depends on what/if John feels like making that day
We'll try to update as we get closer.
  • King Cakes (Cream Cheese, Other types depend on the amount of time and energy we have)
  • Some General Snacks including chips and pretzels.

Drinks
  • Various sodas for drinks/set-ups
  • Mardi Gras Punch and Hurricanes (both are spiked), but there will not be enough of each to be considered as a folks' primary drink
  • Generally BYOB
NOTE: We do have blenders and such

What can I do?

Please feel free to bring extra food/drink. This is Mardi Gras (a time for excess before we're supposed to be good again)...so there can never be too much.

As for suggestions of what to bring, bring that dish/dessert that you've always had other folks raving about saying, "You must give me the recipe". If you don't have one of those, here's some other ideas:
  • Chips (Potato, Corn, etc) and Dips (Onion, Salsa, etc)
  • Sodas (2-liters are usually easier, but whatever is fine)
  • Beer (we'll have coolers/ice)
  • Liquor - Any type...tho we'll make a specific call for:
    • Vodka - Used in the punch
    • Rum - All types (light, dark, spiced, etc)...used for Hurricanes/Daiquiris
